our practice - msc ...

We are seeking to release communities of followers of Jesus – MSCs – mission shaped/mid-sized communities.

MSCs are flexible and simple groupings with a high degree of autonomy so that they can be responsive to whatever they believe God wants them to do.

MSCs are committed to the mission of Jesus who said “...the time (kairos) has come; the kingdom of God is near.   Repent and believe the good news!” (Mark 1:15).   MSCs go as kairos communities believing that as they are good news so others will turn and enter the kingdom of God.

MSCs tend to meet in between our central gatherings which are held on two Sundays each month.  Some meet on a Sunday, others at other times depending on their vision and strategy.

There are some things that we seek to clarify in each MSC:

1) Purpose: what is the vision /mission & is there a commitment to multiplication?

2) Identity: what will you call yourselves?

3) Leadership: Who is the key leader?

4) Strategy/Tactics: What are you going to do? eg When, where, what

5) Accountability: Who will you be accountable to?

An MSC is church in its own right as its members seek to develop a balanced life with

an upward relationship of worship

an inward relationship of unity and encouraging one another to grow in faith

an outward relationship with the world around them

MSCs are regularly visited by the church leader who will bring communion and encourage the connection of each particular community to the whole kairos community.
